  • Coaching and mentoring involves asking questions – of the client and of yourself. 

 

  • Sometimes, only after a number of questions do we get to the core of what needs to be worked on.  It could be fewer than five, or more.

 

  • Continuous improvement is essential for an individual and an organisation.  I strongly believe that there is always room for improvement.  In this context, root cause analysis shows:  

 

  • If you keep asking the question “why” five times, you get to the root cause of the issue.  That’s just an analogy.  The point is that I believe in asking exploratory questions so that we get to the heart of what needs to be worked on.  It is then easier to establish:

 

  • Clear objectives and measurable action plans.
